Gift

Its cold and windy. This bear can hear the loud whistles and screams of the air running. It seems to be rushing in the same direction as Mr Bear as if running from the same hurt. He doesn't know where he is or where he is going as he was only following some direction blindly.

Mr Bear have been away for a long time in the dark.

"Where am I going to Bunny? Why am I blind and where/when did this happen?"
Of course.... there is no answer...

"I do remember something... Ah! It is a special day today!"
"I remember the number twenty three on the tenth month... Bunny... it is your birthday!"

"I am smiling for you and hope you are hopping happily again.
What is this...? I feel a warmth on my cheek..."
"My old grey eyes are closed... thus why I cannot see. Why are they closed?
ah.... I remember now... I did not like how "Mr Bear" sees things.."

"What is this...?" he asks once more. The warmth is spreading to the side of his mouth and it tastes salty.
He wipes his cheek and upon opening his eyes he see tears.

"Is this how sight is restored? I can finally see with the help of tears... thank you Little One,"
Though she won't ever know why he was thanking her.

He thinks to himself, "I'm not there. Nor do I wish to make myself seen as I am scared, Bunny, but will send you a gift with a fox with a different name. I know Fox is quick. I hope you like it..."

Mr Bear remembers why he kept his eyes closed... the world is a dreaded place.

He constantly thinks about how much he is longing for the soft greener grasses, but then again how much he does not want to think of it.
"Mr Bear cannot go back..." Mr Bear sadly confesses.

Mr Bear can still feel an emptiness... there was something that became so much a part of Mr Bear that he never had. It left a print and he touches his chest. He is missing a softer fur that was accompanied by a purr. There is an emotion missing from him that was in the shape of a little gnawing creature. A Beautiful notion it was too. The friendship of a little bunny.

Coins

I traveled long and fast. My paws are even raw from the hasty journey away from pain... or was that towards happiness.... it is starting to affect my well-being in many ways.
Albeit this bear is traveling well and without fear on the journey, it is more painful to walk than the thorn I had in there long ago.

Writing down my memoirs of what this bear remembers as a cub...
I remember him being peaceful. Him being pure. Him being so nice and sharing food with other forest animals...
But there was always something that evaded that little cub and it was success. Little triumphs that could ignite a little joy, but he never had that experience. Thus he has grown to know and rely on hope and hope is what always got him to push further.

Many liked this cub for who he was. As this cub grew he know the difference between being good and being like the men I have documented in that village. While they may entice you with their great inventions and jolly banters, they have so much more hurt to offer that you can´t even see but eventually feel it breaking you off.

As he grew he didn´t have the need for money or success, but just for love and the pleasure of knowing people trust him and he can deliver making them smile.

It bears a great deal of hurt in this bear to know that the cub I once knew is steadily dying.
How does this bear know this? It is because of the bear´s change during personal anguish. The wrong way to grow up in this world.

Coin matters in this world to change and become better. One becomes the coin and if that coin stands between two mirrors one sees something else on the back. Another side of that coin...
What has one become due to change and is this what we want? Does the face on the other side of the coin look better than what we are now?

This bear stares at the mirror and the face that is staring back at him looks different than what he remembers. It is a bear in a top hat with a monocle, vest and a snazzy shirt. Did this bear achieve success? Why doesn´t this face smiles and why does it looks so lonesome.
The bear stares slightly above the face in the mirror which he can clearly the the reflecting of the mirror behind him. The face on that side of the coin, the back of the coin, the memory of the past... That bear looks so happy. He is smiling. This bear can see his eyes wrinkle because of happiness and what is tucked like a baby in his arms... what is that furry smiling mass in his arms... of course:
It is a furry bunny.

The mirror cracks to reveals tears and the monocle falls off the bear.
This bear wants to go home!
...just to feel safe once more and to be able to smile...

Thunder Over the Tree House

The Bear and the Little Bunny spend everyday together, first meeting under the tree and then going on all sorts of adventure.
They even managed to build a nice tree house near the stream. There was a ladder on which the Bear climbed with his sturdy paws and then a lift that the bunny took to the top.

It was raining in the morning with a little thunder, but they never minded the rain when they met as there was a tree house now.
The Bear didn't see the bunny normally looking out for him from atop. He climbed up the tree house and called out to her and she replied back softly "yes.... I'm up here Mister Bear..."
"But where?" he asked
"... under the bed...."
Mister Bear chuckled and asked "Why is Little Bunny under the bed?"
"...scared..."
"Why for?"
"...thunder..."
Mister Bear looked under the bed and there she was, hiding in the corner, and he said with a smile "Little Bunny do not need to be afraid of the thunder. It is just a noise trying to scare you, but look at you! You made it up in the tree house even when it was thundering today."
She crawled nearer to where Mister Bear was holding out his paw and then hopped in his paw.
She felt safe and he was happy.

"Does Mister Bear still remember how we built this tree house?" the little bunny asked.
Mr Bear smiled and said "Yes, I do little one. It began with a twig that you gave me. But Little Bunny should know that I also saw a word on that twig."
"Wow, really Mister Bear? What was the word?" the little bunny asked with surprise.
"Hope" the Bear said and the Little Bunny smiled.
"Mister Bear is always so funny!"
Mister Bear remained silent and smiled for he knew life was good with Little Bunny.
"There is hope in so many ways Little Bunny. That little twig made way for a good tree house. Your gesture inspired great things and although the tree house is mostly made of planks and sturdy wood, it could not have been made without the little twig"

The Little Bunny hugged the bear and said "Mister Bear should please promise to remain my friend!" and she hugged him tighter and crying a little.
Mister Bear was confused and asked "why is the Little Bunny crying?"
She whimpered out words "B-Because... people close to me always get hurt and I do not wish that upon Mister Bear"
The Bear picked up the bunny in both paws and wiped her tears away.
"Little Bunny shouldn't be scared... a promise was made long before Little Bunny even asked. I will always be here" and he touched her nose and sat her down again on the tree house floor next to him and said "You are always safe with me".

The thunder struck again and she hopped under his arm and he held her close.
"You will be safe Little One."
The Little Bunny tried to crawl deeper into his fur and she said "Good night, Mister Bear" and gave him a tight snuggly hug.
"Sleep well Little Bunny" he said with a peaceful smile.

After Mister Bear touched Little Bunny's nose she tucked her head in silently.

Mister Bear didn't know that bunnies could purr....

Relocation

The cold rock this bear sat on was causing my legs to get stiff, it would have been no problem if these gulls weren't so pestering.
I decided to resume my writing, as now, when I have finished unpacking since my travel away from the gulls and cold rock.

Amongst my journey through the rain I found a lonely tower in a field and have made my temporary abode at the top. The roof is sturdy enough to withstand the noisy voices of the wind, but with no windows it rains in a bit. At least there was a bunk for me to huddle up on. I can see only darkness outside...
Bunny... where ever you are, what ever you are doing, I hope you are warm and safe from rain.

I have passed a man village on the way to the tower. Upon viewing man-folk one sees how they try so much to be like one another. It is funny sometimes, but they scare me. Their fear creates weapons and their weapons kill. They can even kill parts of a being with special weapons they are born with. These weapons cannot be seen with the eye, but it is felt within. Their need for want. Their destructive attitude inspired by fear. Their violence in words.
I have already sat there long enough to be poisoned by their air, but I did not leave empty handed. I stole their music which roamed in the air.
Maybe some day I will pass another human village that might be like the rest... or not.
There is but few man that really shines. They are wise, but as they age the poison of men seeps in unknowingly. Less than few remain in total immune. Those I truly praise.

This Bear is tired from walking, but not tired of the journey I plan to set on back home, should there still be a home for a bear. I will listen to pilfered music and write my memories down again.

I noticed the wind calmed down a bit but the sound of rain is welcoming.
A flash? The sound of thunder....
Bunny....

The tree near the stream

Mr Bear went to the tree near the stream each day since the weekend began on Friday and did not see the Bunny for a while. He felt sad as he thought he lost another friend. He missed her.

Mr Bear went early to go and sit under the tree on a Monday morning to reminisce and find peace by the stream and along hopped the Bunny.
He smiled broadly and nodded.
She smiled equally and hopped.

"Where was the Little Bunny the weekend?" he asked sincerely with a smile.
"Mr Bear should know that sometimes I do not feel well and get nightmares about wolves, so I hid the weekend"
"Little Bunny.... you shouldn't be so scared. You have a friend now who will look after you."
"Does Mr Bear really mean that?"
"Yes Little Bunny. Bear wouldn't be here waiting if I was not" he said with a smile.
The Little bunny hugged Mr Bear and he got a little fright.

"What is wrong? Doesn't Mr Bear like hugs?"
"Little Bunny should know that I did not get hugs since I was a small cub... It feels new..."
"Wow Mr Bear! I'm sorry"
"Do not be sorry Little Bunny. It is still new for me... but it is nice...." he said and smiled.
The Little Bunny smiled back.

The Little Bunny gave him another hug and she liked the way Mr Bear got so nervous.
"Do I scare Mr Bear?"
He laughed and said "No, Little Bunny. I'm just a nervous Bear" and he laughed further.

She enjoyed his company as he was not one who would hurt someone. She sensed something about him that was untold.
He enjoyed her company as well. She had this certain spontaneous energy and sees a greatness in her.

"Little Bunny, what sits under a tree, fallen, one big and one small?"
"Uhm.... a bunny and a bear??"
"No Little Bunny... two really odd nuts!"
They laughed and the two odd pals sat under the tree and talked the day away...

A new view

The next day Mr Bear was looking for his new little bunny friend and found her at the same place she first met him. Under the tree and sitting alone looking at the stream.

He approached her and said "Good morning little bunny. How are you today?"
She replied with a smile "Hello Mr Bear! I´m fine today. I did not think Mr Bear would be here today..."
"Why would`t I be here little bunny?" he asked.
"Mr Bear is funny! ...But it is because I do not have many friends..." she trailed off.
Mr Bear laughed but then realized that the little bunny was indeed not making a joke.
He sat down beside the little bunny and showed his paw to her.
"If it was not for Bunny, I would not have been able to walk so nicely to find you" he said and smiled at her.
She just smiled and nodded.

"Little bunny saw something in me and decided to help. I would not be a good friend if I just carried on my way" he carried on "You hopped into my life so that I may walk to find you. So let Mr Bear show you someplace great."
She just smiled but then pondered out loud... "I´m just a little bunny... I wouldn´t be able to take such big steps as Mr Bear"
"Then you may hop unto my shoulder and let me carry you"
She just smiled and nodded.

Mr Bear held out his paw and little bunny wagged her bushy tail and hopped on and up until she sat on his shoulder.
"Mr Bear wouldn´t let me fall, okay?"
"I cannot lose balance now that little bunny fixed my paw"
They both smiled and nodded before they went on the journey.

Mr Bear took them over the stream and up on the hill. Little bunny could see things from a different view sitting on Mr Bear´s shoulder instead of hopping through the thick grass like she used to do.

As they reached the top Mr Bear climbed on a rock and then stood high on his back paws.
"Do bunny see now what view I have of the world?"
"I do! I do! I do!" she said happily then she asked "why does Mr Bear wanted to show me this?"
"Because, little bunny, I do not have any other friends to show my view to..."
"Mr Bear... Thank you for being my friend" she said wagging her tail.
"Pleasure is all mine little bunny."
She just smiled and giggled.
Mr Bear said "So long as a little bunny can smile then I will too" and then he pulled a face.
They both laughed.

Mr Bear knew from the first day that there was something special about this little bunny...
